I haven't been very good about posting this week. I had every good intention of keeping up my end but they say that the road to hell was paved with good intentions. I just might be headed that way - oh well, I think I might be in good company (must keep focused on those positives).
I think it might be a little bit of burn out. Paint me one of those people who has TOO many things they want to accomplish and at times - reflecting on all of that - knocks me for six. I used to wish that I was one of those people, you know the ones - who are content with going to work and coming home to a beer/TV dinner and television until bed time at least five times a week. Hey -- nothing wrong with that if that makes you happy. Personally having things so routine puts me in a rut which drives me a little crazy.
I am currently feeling in that rut. Part of this is creatively and part of it is just wanting to shake things up a bit. Perhaps I just need to get a little crazy!
Things are really good for the most part and there are things coming down the road that will really shake things up and perhaps I will look back on this time and wish I had bathed in the routine a little more.
I shouldn't complain to much because I have it pretty darn good. I recognize that I have options and great things and people going on in my life and some of that is expanding. I am meeting new people who share my passion for photography. I am focused and shooting more than ever and posting things on Flickr which allows me to learn, grow and expand that knowledge base. I am also constantly inspired by some extremely talented people out there. I am also still passionate about the Arts, Music, Film and love writing about it.
I just need to step back a little and well, B - R - E - A - T - H - E
We are off to Austin this weekend to catch up with friends and hang out in one of the coolest cities in Texas. My camera will be on hand so perhaps I will find some extra inspiration and space to step back from things.
I will be back next week with hopefully some interesting tidbits on the weekend and of course my usual daily posts. With its town theme of Keep Austin Weird - how can I go wrong!

Just a little side note. I took the train this morning and they hand out a small paper called Quick DFW - a summary of the top news bits etc. I just happened to read this article by Gordon Keith titled
Brief encounter sometimes all that's needed. It is definitely worth a read and I think you will know what I mean when you do.
